London, 11 July 2022 - Citizen, provider of instant cardless payments using open banking, is celebrating two great wins over the last few days.

Today we're delighted to be recognised as one of the Fintech Power 50, a list of the 40 most innovative companies and 10 visionary personalities shaping the financial services industry in 2022. The exclusive annual program acts as a hub for driving change and creativity in the financial services industry, helping the sector innovate and grow. After more than 1,200 companies were nominated and over 18,000 votes cast, this year’s chosen 50 were revealed live on stage today at Fintech Week London – the city’s biggest tech and finance event.

And last week, on 7 July 2022, Citizen won the award for 'Best Open Banking Payments Project' in the Open Banking Expo awards, 2022. This win was in light of the work we have done with charity platform Wonderful.org to create an easy-to-use and affordable payments solution that ensures Wonderful's member charities can retain all of the donations they are given. It's a payment solution so successful that Citizen are Wonderful's exclusive payment partner, showing that account-to-account payments can be used by almost everyone across the UK.

We're thrilled for our work in payments to be recognised this year. Citizen CEO, James Neville, commented: "These awards reflect the extraordinary growth we’ve seen since we began in 2017, and the real difference our instant cardless payments are making to businesses and consumers across the UK and Europe. The fintech space is thriving, and we’re privileged to be playing our part.”
